Ms Lindman moved to South Carolina in 2008 when she began teaching at E. L. Wright Middle School as a physical education teacher. In her second year she brought Special Olympics Project Unify to the middle school level inspired by her time working with Special Olympics Unified Sports during her time at Western Michigan University. During her time at E. L. Wright she also worked to get students involved in intramural sports programs by hosting mini sports seasons before school, participated in ELWM’s LAW magnet extended school day program, and provided instruction for ELWM’s SWAG tutoring program. Ms. Lindman’s love of all students is evident in every interaction with her students. In 2014 she transitioned to serving Richland School District Two as one of their Adaptive Physical Education Specialists. She continued to hold every student to the highest standard and will accept nothing less than each student’s best. Ms. Lindman’s creativity helped her as she assisted a number of schools in developing Understanding Others Day, a day in which our differences are celebrated. Ms. Lindman also hosted 4 events each year in which her students were able to show off their PE skills to family and the community. Ms. Lindman continues to motivate and inspire athletes by coaching Boy’s Track and Field at Spring Valley High School. Prior to moving to South Carolina Ms. Lindman lived in Michigan where she was an active volunteer and coach with Special Olympics Michigan as well as a Detroit Tigers fan! Ms. Lindman enjoys exercising, cooking, playing games, and hanging with her kids and pets (Spartacus the Cat and Merlin the Doggo) Most recently Ms. Lindman is working to expand her family through adoption!
