Erika Whitlow

Erika Whitlow is an educator who is committed to creating a safe and engaging learning environment that fits the academic needs of individual students. Previously the Gifted and Talented Teacher and Technology Coach, she is now the Chief Information Officer at East Point Academy.  Whitlow earned her B.A. in Elementary Education from Columbia College. Prior to joining East Point Academy, she taught 2nd grade, 2nd-grade French Immersion, and 5th grade in Lexington District One. She also spent several years as her school’s Digital Learning Coach coaching teachers to seamlessly integrate current technology into their lessons. In 2012, she was named her school’s Teacher of the Year. Whitlow is a South Carolina Mentor Teacher and Evaluator and a Columbia College and University of South Carolina Coaching Teacher. She takes great pride in being able to mentor new teachers. She lives in Lexington with her husband Zelman where they enjoy spending time with family and friends and dreaming up their next travel adventures.
