Amanda grew up in West Virginia (and has moved a lot), but has now settled here with her family, which includes her husband, son, daughter, two dogs, a lizard, and a tortoise. She loves swimming, playing the drums, and reading. She cannot wait to share that love of reading with her future students. She graduated from Marshall University in 2004, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders. She has worked as a preschool teacher and a literacy tutor. She spent ten years when her children were younger as a stay-at-home mom. Recently, she graduated from Western Governors University with a Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education, and completed her demonstration teaching here at E.P.A. Amanda is a member of Kappa Delta Pi and International Honor Society in Education.
