Channing Anderson graduated cum laude from Middle Tennessee State University in 2004 majoring in Electronic Media Production. In between production gigs, Anderson would substitute at local schools, and this is where she felt the call to serve in Education. Anderson began her teaching career as a Middle Level English Arts teacher 2007. Stepping into roles such as team leader, curriculum writer, media arts teacher, and evaluator, she loved the creativity and growth the field provided. Anderson achieved her Master's in Education from Southern Wesleyan University in 2010, and became a Nationally Board Certified Teacher in Adolescent Literature in 2012. In 2013 Anderson completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training and continues to teach yoga to this day. Channing Anderson currently serves on the advisory board for SC Virtual School, and she completed Network+ training through Midlands Tech in 2019.
At the end of the 2014 school year, Anderson took three years off to be with her small children, hone her freelance graphic design and website work, and teach yoga. At East Point Academy, Channing Anderson has found her education home. First getting promoted from Middle Level English Arts Teacher to Instructional Technology Facilitator, she will begin the 2020 school year as Information and Technology Coordinator.
When not fixing computers or running social media, Anderson can be found reading, enjoying yoga, riding her Peloton and spending time with her husband Tim, daughter Hadley, son Atticus, and bunny Hopkins.
