Xinyi Meng is a recent graduate from the University of Georgia with a Master’s in Education degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). With a native language in Mandarin, she derives great enthusiasm from exploring the authenticity and ownership of second language acquisition through multimodal meaning-making. In her free time, she enjoys dwelling in artistic spaces of poetry, music, and fine arts.

Staci Spires grew up in Sandy Run, SC but also called Charleston, SC her home after meeting her husband (Steven) who was in the USAF. She started working at East Point Academy in August 2022 and previously worked at Coldwell Banker Realty as their Sales Support Administrator. She is currently seeking her Associate’s Degree in Elementary Education and will then pursue her Bachelor’s Degree. In her free time, you can find Mrs. Spires making memories with her two boys (Connor & Spencer), husband, and dog (Dexter).

Wendy Flanagan grew up in San Diego, California loving the fabulous weather! She has seven years of experience in the classroom with a credential in Early Childhood. She began working at East Point Academy in 2012 and loves her Panda family! In her free time, you can find Mrs. Flanagan enjoying time with her family, hiking, reading, and working in her garden.
Stephanie Watson

Stephanie Watson was born in Goldsboro, N.C. She grew up traveling all over the United States. She was raised in an Air Force family and moved to Columbia in 1975 when her Father retired. Being a stay-at-home Mother of 4 children for 10 years, she spent a lot of time volunteering and serving on parent-teacher committees at schools and church. Mrs. Watson directed the after-school program for Springdale Elementary for seven years, She was a lead 4K teacher at Providence Presbyterian Child Development Center for 9 years. She attended the Midlands Tech Early Childhood program receiving her Early childhood certification. She began working at East Point Academy in 2013. Mrs. Watson believes that East Point is truly unique, offering students rigorous academics, global studies, and cultural awareness with the bonus of the Mandarin language. She loves East Point Academy, the students, and their families that attend here. She has enjoyed meeting, and learning about Chinese people and their culture. In her free time, you can find Mrs.Watson spending time with her family, fishing, swimming, decorating, painting, gardening, cooking, and being a “YaYa” to her 7 Grands!
